3.1 Data Collection Strategy
Data was collected by a survey using questionnaires. Questionnaires
were mailed to 300 randomly selected schools that have adopted CMI in
accordance with the Guidance. Each mailed package contained one set
of questionnaires for the principal or his/her designate, and another
with 10 copies for teachers who were teaching Secondary 1 non-language
subjects (respectively referred to as Administrator Questionnaire and
Teacher Questionnaire hereafter). The questionnaires were anonymous.
An envelope was provided for each questionnaire. Respondents were instructed
to put the completed questionnaire into the envelope and seal it to
ensure confidentiality. The schools were then requested to return both
sets of questionnaires within one week in the stamped envelope provided.
